XXTANZTHEATER is movement as resistance. Under the artistic direction of Bibiana Jiménez, the company creates dance theatre works and site-specific performances that transform bodies into political landscapes. Intense images. Poetic states. Spaces are not merely used — they are occupied.

Aesthetics, choreographic dynamics, and site are not decoration, but consequence. XXTANZTHEATER works interdisciplinarily, experimentally, and collaboratively — with professional artists, independent and state theatres, museums, and universities. Rooted locally. Connected internationally.

At the core: feminist perspectives. The works are political. They ask about power, about bodies, about visibility. About the role of women in a society that continues to constrain them. Here, dance becomes a language of resistance — raw, direct, unyielding.

Drawing on the tradition of political dance theatre after Johann Kresnik, XXTANZTHEATER develops a contemporary, female dance theatre language: physical, uncompromising, emotionally charged. Activism becomes movement. Movement becomes stance.

The works XX-FORTUNA, I AM FARKHUNDA, MARIANA PINEDA and LA POLA were nominated for the Cologne Dance Theatre Award in 2016, 2017, 2023 and 2025.
